Don’t start here...
If you ask the internet who to talk to about renovating your home, it will probably tell you to start with an architect or even an interior designer. Don’t do it!
Here’s how we see it:
A great design meets 3 basic criteria:
Function
Feasibility
Aesthetics
An architect is knowledgeable about structural integrity and might show you an aesthetically pleasing design with a full wall of floor to ceiling windows. Wow, right? But is that actually functional for real life? Where is the television or artwork going to go? And can you imagine trying to keep those windows clean?
An interior designer might draft a beautiful design with a layout that has everything within reach, but wait… isn’t that a structural wall? Maybe that wall has major plumbing, electrical or HVAC. Bringing that plan to life is no longer feasible.
A good contractor with a lot of build experience knows the feasibility and will help you make the best use of every square foot. But, do they have the eye to make it beautiful as well? Fur-downs, for example, can accommodate HVAC and don’t impact how a space functions, but they definitely aren’t cute!
Solution: Hire someone who can take all of this into consideration. Revival Design & Build is unique in that we understand the feasibility of building, how to make every space extremely functional, and we happen to have a really good eye for design. We get to know what our clients need as well as their budget, then we create a floor plan that is feasible - structurally and financially. Making it unique and beautiful on top of that is something we really enjoy. We view each of our projects as another piece of our portfolio, so we’re just as invested in making it look amazing.
