Removing Pain Points

At Revival Design & Build, our ultimate goal is to make our clients happy. One way we do that is by eliminating pain points throughout a project. Renovations are complex and full of moving parts. With countless finishes and people that all need to come together, there’s bound to be some bumps in the road. But - we’ve done this a few times and learned a thing or two, so let us guide you!

Pain Point #1: Finding the right team.

Getting started with the right team is the most important decision you’re going to make throughout your entire project. Too often, people put a lot of time, money and energy into their project only to find out that they’ve gone down the wrong path with the wrong people. They aren’t getting what they wanted, they don’t understand where their money is going, or things are delayed and they don’t know why. It’s a scary situation to be in when it’s such a big investment and getting back to where you were trying to go in the first place is not easy or cheap. So, how do you choose wisely? Of course, you’ll want to do your research and ask questions to see who is qualified and capable of doing the work. But more importantly, get to know the team a little! You’re going to be spending a lot of time with these people so you better like them! Do they listen to you? Are they kind, organized, punctual? What other qualities would you want in someone that is going on this particular journey with you? Also, don’t be afraid to ask if you can talk with previous clients! They have the best knowledge of what it’s like to live through a renovation and what it’s like to work with that team.

Pain Point #2: What do you want/need? What’s possible? How much is that going to cost?

Well, wouldn’t you know, we have a free consultation to answer all these questions for you! Just fill out our New Project Questionnaire and we’ll set up a time to meet with you in your home and see what you’re hoping to change. In that 1-1.5 hour meeting, we will take measurements and pictures and share our knowledge about the feasibility and probable cost of your project. After that meeting, we can put together a detailed estimate and layout design, if necessary, for a price that is based on the square footage and scope of your project.

Pain Point #3: Now what do I do?

Many people have never done a renovation, so they get stuck at the very beginning not knowing who to talk to or what steps to take next. The easy answer is - let us handle it! We can take care of permitting, architectural plans, and HOA requirements. Check out our blog post “Don’t Start Here” for our perspective on what step you shouldn’t take first!

Once we get started, we provide a New Client Packet that answers lots of questions and guides you through the renovation process. We believe that knowledge and good communication is vital to successfully navigate the most stressful parts of a project. Along the way there will be design meetings, pre-build meetings, budget meetings, walk-throughs and shared spreadsheets to make sure you know what to expect every step of the way.

Pain points continue throughout a remodeling project and vary for each client - decision fatigue, budget or time constraints, delays - and we’re constantly adapting to try and make things easier and more efficient for everyone involved. We don’t claim to have it ALL figured out, but we promise to do our absolute best to give you the most enjoyable experience possible!
